This disused slip road, closed in 1978, connects the Watford Way (A1) and M1 motorway in north west London. It is kept in relatively good condition in case of reopening in an emergency.
This particular viewpoint, with its rusting lamp post, bare trees and flying walkway, is morbidly reminiscent of post apocalyptic British urban landscapes described in novels such as John Christopher's 'The White Mountains' and John Wyndham's 'The Day of the Triffids'.
